WINBACK Therapy

WINBACK Therapy is a complementary treatment that uses non-invasive high-frequency current to eliminate pain, free up movement, and accelerate healing. In short, it helps speed recovery when used along with other manual treatments.

With WINBACK, electrodes are used to transfer energy into the body in a way that can be local, superficial, or deep. Different types of electrodes are used depending on the tissue being treated – more superficial action targets soft tissues such as muscle, fascia, lymphatic, and vascular; deeper action targets tissues such as ligaments, tendons, and bones. WINBACK stimulation used in conjunction with manual therapies amplifies effectiveness, accelerating results.

  • What is a typical course of treatment?

A WINBACK session takes approximately 10–25 minutes following initial assessment.

For many patients, a single treatment session can bring pain relief. Additional sessions may be required depending on the nature and severity of the issue being treated. Athletes and others who routinely engage in strenuous activity may benefit from regularly scheduled WINBACK treatments.

  • When will the results of treatment begin to be felt?

Many patients enjoy up to 48 hours of initial pain relief immediately following their first treatment. Improvement continues as healing occurs in the following days and weeks, and throughout the course of treatment.

  • What does a WINBACK session feel like?

WINBACK stimulation is painless and many patients find it quite pleasant and relaxing.

  • What are some of the benefits?

WINBACK Therapy offers several benefits when used in conjunction with other manual treatments. These include:

    • Results and even complete relief in very few sessions
    • Ability to target tissues at deeper levels than traditional manual techniques
    • Potential for immediate pain relief and increased range of motion
    • Faster and more robust healing

  • What conditions can be treated?

WINBACK is an effective treatment for acute and chronic pain along with injury rehabilitation and even prevention.

It can be used to successfully treat the following conditions and more.

    • Muscle injuries
    • Ligament injuries
    • Muscle tears
    • Sprains
    • Fractures
    • Muscle spasms
    • Arthritis pain
    • Sciatica
    • Tennis elbow

  • Are there any precautions or contraindications for WINBACK Therapy?

In general, the contraindications for WINBACK Therapy are similar to those in the use of heat therapy – infections and sensitivity deficits causing the patient to be unable to perceive or communicate the sensation of pain. Additionally, contraindications include those more specific to electromagnetic diathermy such as coagulopathy and thorombophelbitis.

Other general contraindications and/or precautions include:

    • Pregnancy
    • Deep vein thrombosis
    • Hypoesthesia
    • Damaged skin
    • Implanted pacemaker
